Austin — Texas Young Democrats proudly congratulates Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia, who represents Texas’ 29th congressional district, for being appointed an impeachment trial manager by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi

Congresswoman Garcia has been given this distinct and important responsibility in her very first term as a member of the U.S. House of Congresswomans, with Speaker Pelosi noting that Congresswoman Garcia’s background as a lawyer, judge, and public servant uniquely qualifies Congresswoman Garcia to help Democrats hold President Trump accountable in the upcoming Senate impeachment trial.

"The Texas Young Democrats could not be more proud to see that Speaker Pelosi made the excellent decision to appoint a champion of our organization, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia, as one of the 7 impeachment managers.
"Congresswoman Garcia is a force to be reckoned with and we have no doubt that she'll prosecute the case against the current occupant of the White House with a keen intellect and unmatched precision.
"We look forward to cheering her on as House Democrats work to convince the Senate to do their Constitutional duty, and remove the most dangerous president in the modern history of our nation," said TYD President Kolby Duhon.

As the premiere document of our democracy, the U.S. Constitution outlines a separation of powers in our government that prevents corruption, abuse, and authoritarianism. The nation now depends on Texas Republicans like Senator John Cornyn to prioritize our democracy over partisan interests — and to hold the President and his administration accountable.
